Luciana Paoluzzi was raised living in Rome together with her mother and father. Luciana Paoluzzi's father is an Italian Army officer, and Maria Rota Paoluzzi's mother is a former mistress of Benito Mussolini. No information is available about having siblings. She attended a local high school. Upon matriculating in 1955 she studied marine engineering in the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the only female in the class.
